In a Pickle

Warm days and crisp nights mean that it’s harvest season in the Berkshires! Time to visit area farms to treat yourself to produce straight from the vine. Have you ever wished you could enjoy the fresh tastes of summer in the colder months? Berkshire Grown has organized¬†Preserve the Bounty, a series on workshops that will teach you how to can, preserve and pickle your way through the fall. Make plum jam, blueberry preserves, marmalades, salsas, pickled veggies and more, all harvested from Berkshire farms. The classes range in price from about $12 -$25, which includes the cost for the goodies you make and take home with you! On September 24th, there’s a handy¬†pickling workshop just down the road at Williams College. Try it… you’ll like it!
