I love the feeling of serenity that comes from sitting beside rushing water. Usually springtime is the best time to check out the area’s waterfalls, with higher elevations feeding melting snow into our rivers and streams. This year has been the wettest on record for Massachusetts, but it looks like we may have broken that pattern, with the upcoming stretch of the kind of summer weather that we adore: nice and warm and sunny! Here’s a suggestion for a short but lovely walk to a waterfall – the Cascades Trail following Notch Brook right here in North Adams.
