Mass Transport

One of our local art heros, sculptor and Eric Rudd, founder and operator of the Historic Beaver Mill, revitalized a vintage trolley, got some sponsors (Porches is THE major sponsor!), and is now offering Art Tours of North Adams. The first tour, which leaves the MASS MoCA parking lot at 1 p.m., is a 75-minute drive through the city’s historic neighborhoods guided by local historian Paul W. Marino. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children. A second two-hour-long “art hot spots” tour, led by artist guides, leaves the museum at 3 p.m., with a pick-up right here at the Porches Inn. The tour includes revolving stops at artists lofts, galleries at the Eclipse, Windsor and Beaver mills and DownStreet Art galleries and installations. Tickets are $10 per person and $5 for children under 12. Save some time for a trolley tour on your next visit!
