Chautauqua! happens at MASS MoCA on Saturday, April 9th. Consider this: a young, rabble-rousing theater group distills an historic intellectual gathering into a a sly exploration of the relationship between High Culture and the Mass Mind. These folks are eccentric and proud of it! The performance is a combination of lecture, debate, scientific demonstration and tales of explorers with more traditional forms of entertainment dance, dramatic recital, feats of strength, and joke telling. Sounds outrageous? It is. Don’t miss it – check out our Chautauqua special, complete with a chance to get $25 off your reservation!

Mount Greylock is the highest peak in the state of Massachusetts. It’s not a four-thousand-footer like in the Adirondacks or Presidential Range, but it’s a beauty any time of year. This vintage postcard shows the mountaintop and monument under a moonlit sky – a pretty romantic spot, isn’t it? Check out this page of activities that include year-round fun for the whole family. You’ll find information on varying types of terrain to explore, whether your interested in birds or a rigorous hike. If the weather isn’t promising for your visit, plan a visit to the Western Gateway Heritage State Park. Their spring programs include Trains Gone Wild! and Spring Equinox Astronomy Sky Theatre | Is Earth Life Unique? - click here for more details.
